Approximately 12:50 am, January 3, 2024 over Sullivant ave going towards Georgesville rd in Columbus Ohio: there were sounds of a large helicopter that I was looking for, and could not find from the direction the sound was coming from. Only to see it (the helicopter) DIRECTLY in front of us, I look to my left to see quite a large ball of orang/red light (like a soft color warm light) that is definitely much larger than a spotlight in a air craft. It had a tail from movement of the same color light and was rapidly moving at 50-60degree angle downwards. It became in my rear view at this point which I as the passenger was interested and instead of it continuing it's trajectory towards the ground it stoped for a moment (I could see it in the reflection of passenger mirror above the street between buildings) then quickly changed course almost as soon as I saw it with my eyes and appeared to "duck" behind the buildings it was in relative location to.... horizontally. After that I didn't see it again but if anyone saw it I would like to see what you're thinking or know it was. It sounded like multiple helicopters were in the area also in relative location to said object. ( I think i have an idea of what this may be) but it definitely was not a helicopter or falling asteroid as it didn't not immediately make impact and shifted from a downward slanted trajectory to an horizontal one after making a momentary pause mid air. I first saw object at what I think as less than 5 miles from the surface of the Earth. Both visually confirmed helicopter and ball of light appeared to be at the same height as far as distance from the surface I am unsure exactly, but quite low but not low enough...I was mesmerized instantly as my previous need to visually identify the sound was met with a sight that was not quite what I had anticipated to see after the echo of the helicopter invaded my ear drums to the point they are itchy and hurt from the wave. as my need to locate the source of the sound which i still do not believe was coming from the one helicopter that I was able to locate visually. Time is 1:24 am and I will be ready for information on your experience or thoughts!! But my insides just want to see it again it made me feel fuzzy warm inside.
