Was having a bonfire with my friend watching the lunar eclipse and just before totality, I saw my buddy looking at the sky with a confused look, I looked up and a giant purple and blue mass of energy, it was what looked like a comet or meteor but far too large, and I had seen my fair share of those. It’s trail had to have been hundreds of miles long. It also seemed fairly close for such a large mass of energy.
We watched it for a few seconds and almost as soon as we noticed it, it faded away. Tried to do research on strange sky sightings from that night and there were none. No meteor showers, no comets. No other sightings. To my knowledge my buddy and I are the only ones who saw it.

In 2020 I was at a family member’s cabin having a bonfire with 4 relatives in Alexandra mn at around 1:00 am I noticed a large ball of light come over the tree line and slowly come are way about 200 feet away as the ball of light looked like some sort of electrical ball it make no sound we all stood up from are chairs and said nothing just in shock of what it was looked amazing it slowly crossed back over the tree live and we could not see it. We talked about what we saw and until this very day have never seen this again. I looked up what it could have been it was not ball lightning. Whatever it was it was not normal.
