I was surfing in Waikiki and there weren't many waves today, so I was admiring the sky and the sunset a lot. All of a sudden appears this black object in the sky and its shape was constantly changing. The sun was still up but almost set, and a cloud was in front of the sun. The sky was light and I could clearly see this object. I saw Venus in the sky because it was the only "star" in the sky at the time. This object was right next to Venus in the sky. It was moving but what appeared to be in an exact straight line away from me because it didn't move left right up or down respective to my view, but it seemed like it was getting further away. I watched it for about 60 seconds, and (this is a rough description) it looked like a black balloon animal that was quickly changing form into sometimes what appeared to be a triangular form but the form was never constant. At one point it seemed like I could see the sky through the object like there was a hole in the object or it was tied in a loop maybe. It changed shape and stayed in the same place for a while and unfortunately a wave came to me at that time. I caught the wave thinking the object would remain near Venus in the sky because it had been there for a minute already. As soon as I looked back it was gone. I searched the sky around it to try and make sense of what I saw. At first when I saw it, I thought a black parasail or a tarp, or some kind of kite or sail had gotten taken by the wind but all of those possibilities were quickly ruled out by the way it was moving but not changing position in the sky relative to my view. It was not a plane or a helicopter as those frequent the area, it had no lights on it and was solid black. There were no high clouds in the sky and hardly any low clouds in the sky today besides the one over the ocean blocking the sun.
- The object looked like a black aircraft in the sky that was constantly changing shape/form.
- The object itself looked like it was moving further away from me but in a straight line to where I could not tell if it was moving and the fact that its shape kept changing made it harder to tell.
- The sighting was about 1 to 2 minutes, and I was in a very relaxed environment paying full attention to it with a perfectly unobstructed view
- There were about 10 other people surfing with me, I regret not saying something to them as I was watching in confusion and disbelief and no one else seemed to notice it
- The weather was calm, sunset, clear skies, low wind
- I was constantly questioning what I was looking at the entire time, and I felt even more confused after seeing it because it was unlike anything in the sky that I've seen before.
