Witness Account

Unknown date, possibly spring of 1965,66,67. Young passenger in car riding up from coastal area around Indian Rocks Beach noticed bright star sometimes falling behind car, sometimes going ahead, though driver was maintaining a constant speed. Called attention to this anomaly to driver and other passengers in car. Its speed and movements in relation to the car's speed were evident to all. The driver pulled over at Clearwater Beach so that all could walk down on the beach where, as it turned out, many others had congregated, having seen the erratic movements of the bright star. It stayed stationary in the sky for some time, when all at once another bright star emerged from the center of the horizon. Suddenly, the original star zoomed to the right. Then it merged with the other bright star in the center. The combined light grew very bright and large. Then it went out into the horizon at great speed and disappeared almost instantly. The people on the beach were awestruck and began talking about having seen two UFOs. Could find no reports of this in local newspapers from those times.
