UFO Sighting in Grand Haven, Michigan - July 15, 2012

Witness Account

This happened a long time ago, but I was encouraged to report it in the hopes of somebody else having the same experience. I just think about it every day and I still haven’t received an explanation. In July 2012 I was just driving down Beacon Boulevard in grand Haven, Michigan, which is the main drag through grand Haven that eventually brings you through Holland and Grand Rapids, etc. I was stopped at a red light with my girlfriend and I noticed what appeared to be, at first anyway, a bubble. Like a bubble a child blew that got caught in the wind and made it all the way to the car. But as it approached, it definitely wasn’t a bubble. It had a similar iridescent sheen to it. but there was also some kind of faint electricity going on inside of it. Through its skin. Or membrane. Im not sure if it was electricity or something else but electricity is the closest thing I can compare it to.

The orb was about the size of a softball. Perhaps a little smaller. One thing to note here is how it moved. Upon first glance it did remind me of a bubble in the wind. But as it came closer to the car there was nothing erratic about it. It moved in perfectly straight lines as if it were following some kind of connect the dot puzzle I couldn’t see. I noticed it about 15 feet out to my 10 o’clock. As an approach closer, every 5 feet or so it would move in four or five different straight lines. It came up to the windshield Stopped for about three seconds, which is when I got the better view of it and could see the electrical or plasma like activity through the iridescent membrane. This wasn’t a toy. Definitely wasn’t a bubble. It wasn’t light. It was organic. Or at least organic in the sense that it was a real object. Then rose up and darted off over my car at which point a sort of snapped out of it, and realize people were honking behind me because I was sitting at a green light at that point. I was so amazed I didn’t realize the light had turned. My girlfriend looked at me And simply asked “what was that”? She looked just as bewilders as I felt.

Anyway, I went down a rabbit hole after that for about a year. Just reading about orbs and what people think orbs are through culture and everything. I have no idea what that thing was, but it was definitely real and it changed me on a fundamental level. I wonder if any of the other cars saw the thing. I wonder if my ex thinks about it at all. I think about it every day. Even if it wasn’t something other than an atmospheric anomaly that we don’t quite understand, that would be really cool to learn it’s what that was. I’ve ruled out ball lightning because of the conditions. But all this recent talk about plasmoids in the atmosphere and things like that has me pondering about it more lately. This experience is not recent. But it’s still very fresh in my mind.

Yeah ever since the jersey drones incident last year spanned from around October 2024 till about January to February maybe 2025 i don't even remember how the term plasmoid first got introduced to me I probably randomly saw somebody say it in a comment section on one of the videos or something but anyway I also ended up going down that rabbit hole and it's a paradigm shift honestly is how I feel about it obviously I can't claim to know what's definitively true any more than the next person but for my own personal thinking i i feel that the plasmoid explanation is very satisfied in the world for a lot of this UFO UAP activity in the morning about plasmaids like the confirm facts that they have about them the more at all kind of starts to peace together one thing that they have up in the Safeguard against it other than people's genuine industry about anything nowadays is they refuse to claim that they're alive they're supposed to still go is saying they seem to exhibit life like properties at times or something like that but in my opinion as a non-classically trained independent hobbyist researcher who is done extensive research on the category of plasmoids ever since discovering their existence last year I think that scientists or I guess more specifically plasma physicists not claiming them to be alive is a product of one not wanting to complicate their research it's one thing to be doing experiments on some plasma and a magnetic field and it's another thing to be doing some experiments on this thing that you're now saying is a life form that introduces a lot of red tape that they probably don't want to deal with and then I think also the human ego thing the human Centric biocentric kind of worldview that we have where unless it's basically unless we find essentially humans walking around on another planet even then I'm not sure if scientists would declare them to be another life form and say oh well they're a collection of atoms and molecules and stuff they appear to exhibit some life-like traits lol. Anyway I digress i for one considered plasmoids to most definitely be alive and sentient and I think that they account for a great number not all but a great number of ufo/uap sightings and encounters throughout history and continuing even through today when you look back at a lot of these encounters and reports with the lens of plasmoids and their behavior profiles and confirmed exhibited characteristics and traits so many of them just kind of jumped out at me personally did their last point it's just we never had the framework because it sounds like you're kind of like me where you were never taught this in school that a plasmoid is a thing that exists it's kind of a niche area I guess anyway sorry I'll ramble on forever talking about this subject but if you are interested in discussing it or hearing more about my ideas and the research I've done on it then feel free to reach out. And for what it's worth i definitely believe you i think it's amazing that you were able to see one that close up I wish I could have and I know that at the same time it's a pretty difficult thing to bear witness to something like that because of the fact that most people seem to not care somehow and the ones that do actually care will just they care enough to call you crazy but they don't care enough to actually look into it that's the key anyway thank you for sharing your story you'd be surprised how few people have made the connection one way or the other to plasmoids it's rarely seen and the context of UFO or UAP reports so i definitely appreciate it.

Thank you for your report. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about my sighting either. I've had two orb sightings in the past 30 years. The most recent was 12/6/24. Both sightings where within 50ft, so there's no question in my mind about what they were. All I can say is that the desire to understand what these things are never goes away, and people will never fully understand the toll this takes on people until they have an experience for themselves. The only thing I've found that helps is finding others with similar experiences. It's very easy for people to dismiss these sightings unless they've experienced it for themselves.
