I walked into the backyard with my dogs and looked up in the sky, it was a very clear night. I looked up and saw a very bright white light moving across the sky. I thought it was a plane but I couldn't see any blinking lights. It seemed to be moving faster than a plane but not zipping across the sky in a split second. All of a sudden the light moved a little towards the east and came to a stop. I yelled for my girlfriend, she came outside and watched the light. She said she noticed it move around a little bit but I did not. It was above airliners, planes fly over head on their approach to either SFO or San Jose international and I could see one of the planes fly under it. Besides the moon it was the brightest light in the sky, it was a bright white color. It stayed there for over 2 hours, I finally went inside around 1015.

Thank you for sharing your report. This lends to the theory I have that these orbs often pretend to be stars as a means of masking themselves. It obviously wasn't a star because it moved across the sky, but for those few hours it was stationary, anyone would just assume it was a star. Very interesting.
Think this report may match another sighting — same object, same night, nearby location?
