This is a long one because I remember every detail very clearly and I want to give as much information as possible.
Large metallic sphere. Like mirror polished steel. I was on a residential construction crew, as a lead carpenter. It was a typical warm, clear June day here (I still live here). I had a crew up on scaffolding, calling out measurements to me on the ground, and I would grab lumber from a pile, cut what they needed and hand the boards up to them. My cut station/line of site, was facing south. The guys on the scaffolding were situated on the N facing side of the home. Right around 11:30, the foreman instructed everyone to take lunch. The 2 guys on the scaffolding called out one more measurement and got down off the scaffolding and went inside the home for lunch. There's plenty of shade inside and the June sun is very intense at 7000 ft elevation. I wanted to complete the last lumber cut before I ate, so it would be ready for them after lunch. I set the board on the cut table, pulled out my measuring tape to mark it, was looking down at the board and the a bright glint from somewhere caught my eye. Like when the sun hits a mirror or someone shines a bright light at you and it grabs your attention. I though one of the crew was messing with me, telling me to relax and take lunch haha, so they were shining/reflecting sunlight in my face. I raised my eyes to the house and didn't see anyone, then looked up above the house and the few Ponderosa Pine trees on the property. Slowly moving from East to West, was the sphere. Completely silent, polished metal, and huge. My best guess is 100 ft in diameter. Maybe 300-500 above ground? Definitely massive! I did a double take and looked away, then looked back up. It was moving at the speed of a small Cessna or something, just slowly cruising through the air. I watched until it crossed my horizon (my left to right) and just before some trees started to block the view, it shot off, instantly to the west. In a flash it was just a tiny dot and disappeared. I was completely baffled, and a bit surprised. Like, I have heard stories my whole life and it hit me that I just saw something that I didn't know what the hell that was. It happened to me! And of course, everyone else on the jobsite was inside and didn't see it. I was never really interested in subject of UFO's but I was also like, there's gotta be something out there. I went inside to the rest of the crew, ate lunch with them and didn't say a word. I was worried about the stigma at the time. 2 days later, I was at my boss's house. He asked me if everything was alright. I was newly married, had a 1 year old daughter and was just trying to be a good husband, father and employee and at that time, I took things very seriously. He said I needed to relax a bit more lol. But he noticed a change in me, that's why he asked if I was ok. So, I told him the story, waiting for the ridicule. Waiting to be called crazy or ask if I was on drugs haha. Instead, he looked at me calmly and said "let me tell you a story about a UFO my father saw as a rural mail carrier in Minnesota in the 1950's". I was shocked. This man, my boss was the nicest, most caring and honest person I ever met. He was not bullshitting me. Since that time, over the years, I've met many people with experiences and have been completely unafraid to share my story. I've heard amazing, believable stories. It changed my life, in a positive way. I haven't seen anything since, but I will never forget it!

Thank you for your report. I'm glad you witnessed one of them. These experiences really change our view of our place in the universe. I've never been lucky enough to have a daytime sighting, but two very close night sightings. Both orbs, and different sizes each time. Once basketball size, and the other time car sized. Your orb sighting being 100ft in diameter would mean there really is no 1 size for these orbs. I'm sure you also have the feeling that these orbs are fleeting, and difficult to catch a glimpse of. Had you not looked up that instant you wouldn't know it was there. Also, being smooth reflective material lets them blend into the sky very well.
Think this report may match another sighting — same object, same night, nearby location?
