UFO Report from Chattanooga, Tennessee

I was on my way to pick up my girlfriend from work. Around 5:30 PM in Chattanooga, while at the end of Amnicola, heading towards Hwy 153, I saw a large object hovering over Chickamauga Dam/Lake, strongly reflecting the sun. I Looked back a few moments later and it was completely gone. I picked up my girlfriend less than 5 minutes later, and we both looked for aircraft in the area, but didn't see any evidence of ANY aircraft or even contrails. I thought it was a plane heading towards me, making it look like it was hovering in place, but just disappeared a few moments after initially seeing it. This thing was large, but hard to tell what shape or color because of the sun reflecting off of it. I didn't see any trails and it didnt seem to be moving. I honestly got this instinctive feeling that it was watching / observing, but this was during Rush Hour, so not very inconspicuous and certainly not trying to hide.
